BIKING TRAILS

An alternative is to bike along the biking trail Sverigeleden (The Sweden Trail) which goes from the country’s northern to southern part. The trail pass outside of Nordic Discovery's bicycle rental. If you don’t want to bike in both directions so exists the possibility to return in canoes or on feet along marked hiking trails. Our maps indicate recommendations in order to find the “gold stones” of Bergslagen. Bicycles are for rent in Nordic Discovery's activity center (link)

HIKING TRAILS

Västmanland have a big amount of nice hiking trails. The trails are marked and well locked after. We arrange tours and recommend the following hiking trails:

 BERGSLAGSLEDEN/THE EUROPE TRAIL

Europe trail numbers one stretches from the north of Sweden all through Europe down to the south of Italy. The trail pass through The Nature Reserve Malingsbo/Kloten from the north to the south. The trail section in our area is well looked after and goes under the name Bergslagsleden. Bergslagsleden starts outside the door of our activity central. The first stretch is 21 km long and leads to the hotel Gillersklack. 11 km north along the Europe trail you will reach the small village Nyfors and after 16 km the village Björsjö. Another trail goes west to the village Malingsbo (12 km) and further continuation along Bruksleden

An alternative service is to get your car transported from Kloten to the point where the hiking ends

The amount of marked hiking trails in Bergslagens is approximately 500 km. The trail pass through places of historical and cultural interest. For instance Bruksleden passes Landsberget (where you at clear weathers can see far out over the archipelago of Åmänning) and Trummelsberg, a Sweden's Klondike with an excited mine history. THE PILGRIM TRAIL / ROMBOLEDEN

The pilgrim from the Middle-Age passed along different paths and roads. The destination of the Pilgrimage was to the Nordic saint Sankt Olof's grave in Nidaros (as Trondheim was called during the Middle-Age). The trail starts in Köping and follow the valley of Hedströmmen to the north. The trail offers a culture-historical journey along paths and roads that has been hiked by pilgrims during the Middle-Age. Bicycles and transport are to be booked from the break-up of the ice to freeze-up (approximately May - October)

Trackless excursions

We are guests in the nature and we are required to show responsibility and care. Not to harm and not to destroy. To be in the Swedish nature is a right but it is also a duty to behave well
